About LSF Australia

Welcome to the League of Silent Flight Australia. This website offers information about the LSF, the LSF Proficiency scheme, competition results, upcoming events, articles about gliding, photos and stories that can make the whole experience of flying gliders even more enjoyable.

What is LSF Australia?
LSF Australia was formed in 1978 to promote the sport/hobby of radio-controlled glider flying. LSF Australia was formed as an affiliate of LSF USA.

If you enjoy competition and you're keen to test your piloting skills against others, there are several competition categories available, F3B (the triathlon of competitive gliding), F3J (pure thermal), F5L (2m eRES), F3K (discus launch), Scale Soaring, F3F (slope racing) and the latest, GPS Racing. The League of Silent Flight (LSF) is a USA based organisation dedicated to the promotion of all forms of model gliding and soaring. There are currently active LSF Chapters in many parts of the world including Australia.

LSF Australia has been running since 1978. A major activity that the LSF promotes is the personal flight proficiency achievement scheme. This is a series of flying tasks aimed at all levels that encourages participants to extend their flying abilities. More information can be found in the Level Forms section of this website.

LSF Australia also runs a number of competitions throughout the year, including the Jerilderie Tournament, arguably Australia's finest thermal soaring event and equally challenging, Scale Glider weekend also at Jerilderie.

The LSF Australia is continually trying to broaden its base of activities and interests for the benefit of Australia's RC Glider pilots. This includes promoting flying activities, sharing a large knowledge base and liaising with national and state bodies regarding gliding matters.
